THE TIMEPIECE
This timepiece appears to be straight from Wall Street. Blue, gold, and rose gold are the dominating colors. This wavy gold case accentuates the piece, pulling the connoisseur’s eye directly to it. The ultra-modern, sophisticated saphire crystal case gives away to the intricate inner workings, skeletonised movement with massive mechanisms, where the bridges and pillars of a traditional tourbillon have been turned into an elliptical circle with diameters of 21.2mm. An eccentric balance of 14mm further characterises this radical tourbillon. Powered by a 24-jewel manual winding CS-03.SQT movement, beating at 18,800 vibrations an hour.
The Making of Wall Street Zombie
The first time I questioned the incredible growth in Decentralized Finance
(DeFi). My second question was, ‘what are the banks doing about it?’.
Modern banking was introduced a few hundred years ago and has
remained largely unchanged. DeFi will create a paradigm shift, but at an
astounding speed, relative to the hundreds of years old traditional system.
The majority of banks and financial institutions are not reacting to the
swell in cryptocurrencies and the development of a sea of new disruptive
technologies.
DeFi is like a massive Tsunami wave about to crash down and engulf
traditional finance. Creative Destruction was the inspiration behind the
